The thing that stuns me about Australia is the range of landscapes there. Far from being just a place with beaches and The Outback, there is so much to see and do in its diverse topography. Cairns looks inspired. I LOVE that tropical feel to it. Right up my alley.

Cairns in summer is a place to avoid, but it’s a glorious place the rest of the time. While there, a trip to the Atherton Tablelands or Innisfail is also a great idea (and that’s coming from a Queenslander).
